English + Chinese subtitles | 10 + hours | Video: 1080p | project file | 8.5 GB
When fstoppers was first launched in 2010, our goal was to share the secrets of successful photographers behind the scenes. The first short film we made was one of the relatively unknown but talented head photographer Peter Hurley. Aware of the talent behind Peter's coaching approach, fstoppers decided to shoot a longer full-length tutorial on Peter Hurley's head bashing technique. The resulting educational series "the art behind the head portrait" has been highly praised by the photography industry and helped Peter Hurley become one of the world's top photography instructors. "Art after a blow" was released in 2011, and since then Peter has not only grown into a more skilled head photographer, but also a better mentor. For the past six years, Peter has been perfecting his technology and how he teaches it. Welcome to perfect your head!
If there is a theme behind Peter's work, it is that everyone needs to look confident and approachable. The number one challenge for any photographer when photographing people is to learn how to separate them from the appearance of the common "headlight deer" and make them look comfortable and interesting. In this tutorial, Peter delves into the human soul and explains why people almost always have fear and fear when looking at a camera. After learning what makes people look "blank and have lunch," Peter teaches you a variety of techniques to make your theme look more confident and attractive.
